Notes from Nolen Sunday Worship Service Plan C
Last week we had two plans for the worship service, A and B, depending on whether we had power at the church. This week we go to Plan C.
We have been wanting to kick off a new teaching series for 4 weeks now on stewardship. Unfortunately, I have been in bed sick for the past 3 days and nights with a bladder related infection with fever and body aches and pains. So, this Sunday we go to Plan C with Pastor George Smyrnios preaching on "The God Who Is Bigger than Our Storms." Sounds appropriate.
This Sunday can also be sort of a reunion Sunday as most of us have not been together for 3 weeks now. Last Sunday only 1/3 of our church were in attendance at the Estero Village Hall. The Sunday before that we had no service as Irma was front and center, literally. So, let's all be present this Sunday and celebrate God's goodness to us in the midst of the storms of life.
Puerto Rico Sunday?
And, as an added bonus this Sunday, Dennis and Linda Glenn, fresh back from storm devastated Puerto Rico, will be sharing the good work of God in Puerto Rico in spite of the two horrible storms there.
Catch Up Sunday?
I certainly hope this Sunday is also a catch up Sunday for the two missed weeks of usual offerings for Legacy Church. We were already tracking significantly behind in our church budget giving before these two weeks of interruptions. We are now $45,000 behind (17% YTD) and for the first time in our 8 year history we have not been able to pay our monthly missions partnerships in September. I am 100 % confident that we will give sufficiently this Sunday to remedy that problem.
